Velida Cavalier Landry, 94, a native of Napoleonville, La., and resident of Lockport, La., died at 7:08 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2010.
Ms. Landry was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies Alter Society and Knight of Columbus Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, dancing, bingo, cards and the casino.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Gerald) Guidry, Pearl (Dudley) Ledet and Rita (Lamar) Lowry; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Landry; parents, Joseph and Alice Boudreaux Cavalier; companion, Ambrose “Jack” Gaudet; three brothers, Jimmy, Sidney and Gilbert Cavalier; one sister, Emelda Adams; one grandson, Ronnie Ledet; and one great-granddaughter, Lacey Doucet.
She is buried at Holy Savior Catholic Church Cemetery.
