Velma Detillier Ford, 88, a native and resident of Mathews, LA., died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2007.


Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland, LA. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews, with burial in Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport, LA.


She is survived by two sons, Moise Ford Jr. of Mathews and Gerald Ford of Avondale, LA.; two daughters, Gloria Dufrene of Avondale and Diane Larousse of Kreamer, LA.; one brother, Herbert Dufrene of Metairie, LA.; one sister, Dorothy Martin of Peachtree City, GA.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Moise Ford Sr.; her parents, Phillip and Leontine Molaison Detillier; her stepfather, Wilfred Dufrene; and one sister, Alverda Dufrene.

She was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church.

Falgout Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
