Velma Guidry Trahan, 85, a native of Galliano, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, April 24, 2014.
Mrs. Trahan was the perfect wife and mother to her family. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Albert Trahan; son, Perry (Cynthia) Trahan; brothers, Richard and Roy Guidry; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gracien and Augusta Guidry; son, Albert Trahan; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 28, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
