Vergie Eads Petersen, 88, a native of Denmark, Ark., and resident of Houma, LA., died Saturday, March 17, 2007.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in First Baptist Cemetery.


She is survived by two sons, Larry C. Petersen and wife, Suzan, and Louis H. Petersen and wife, Madelyn; two daughters, Linda P. Melancon and Paula Coulter; eight grandchildren, Celynn Bourgeois and husband, Vaughn, Darrin Melancon and wife, Charlotte, Julie Landry and husband, Eddie, Thad Petersen and wife, Laura, Priscila Petersen, Matt Petersen and wife, Nicole, Marti Burnham and husband, Toby, and Marcus Petersen and fiancé, Shannon; and nine great-grandchildren, Alyse, Blake, Taylor and Seth Melancon, Chase, Garrett, Jared, Sydnee’ and Jordan Petersen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Petersen; her parents, Louis Eads and Melinda Warrens; one daughter, Sandra Sue Petersen; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Morgan.

Memorial donations can be made to the National Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
