Verna Vizier Bousegard Callais, 90, a native of Golden Meadow, LA. and resident of Cut Off, LA., died at 3 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2007.


Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Mass will be at noon Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.


She is survived by one brother, Jimmie Vizier; three sisters, Jane Rouchon, Rose Mary Ledet and Rosie Jean Vizier Galjour; six grandchildren, Hurst Bousegard Jr., Angelique Bello, Dustin Bousegard, Casey Bousegard, Melainie White and Brook Bousegard; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ceasar Bousegard; her second husband, Joseph Callais; her parents, Odee and Mari Guidry Vizier; one son, Hurst Bousegard Sr.; three brothers, Morris, Valcour and Tommie Vizier; and two sisters, Odette Thibodeaux and Mary Gilbert.

She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She enjoyed cooking and spoiling her grandchildren.
