Verna Mae Ward Joseph, 64, a native and resident of Napoleonville, LA., died Thursday, March 1, 2007.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Bright Morning Star First Baptist Church in Napoleonville. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Otis Joseph Jr. and wife, Annette, and Vincent Joseph and wife, Shawn; five daughters, Marion Johnson and husband, Chris, Laura Duncan and husband, Warren, Valerie Brown and husband, Kyle, Stephanie Cox and husband, Brandon, and Maria Joseph; two brothers, Joseph Ward and wife, Shirley, and the Rev. Warren Ward and wife, Audrey; two sisters, Emily Jones and husband, Robert, and Dorothy Sims and husband, the Rev. Houston; one sister-in-law, Haley Williams; one brother-in-law, Wilbert Williams; and 17 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Joseph Sr.; her parents, Isaac Ward and Alma Dorsey Ward; one daughter, Pauline Joseph; one brother, Ivory Ward Sr.; and one sister, Bessie Mae Williams.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
