Vernal King Jr.

Vernal J. “T.T.” King Jr., 74, a Louisiana native and resident of Screven, Ga., died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, after an extended illness.

Mr. King was a member of Screven First Baptist Church. A U.S. Marine veteran, he was a retired oil field worker in Houma. He loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by daughters, Melissa (Michael) Gardner, Terri (Eddie) Lee and Roxanne (Dean) Bryant; sons, Todd (Wanda), Vernal III, Timothy and Christopher King; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Diane Dryden; brother, Randall King; and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Garrett Gardner, Carl Sawyer, Michael Mullis, Christopher King, David Gardner, Cole Gardner and Eddie Lee.

He is buried at O’Quinn Cemetery.
