Vertis “Vip” Morvant, 74, a native and resident of Chackbay, La., died Tuesday, March 1, 2011.
Mr. Morvant was a retired repair service supervisor with South Central Bell. He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Dugas Morvant; son, Vance Morvant; daughters, Tisha (Steve) Bryant and Tania (Shane) Blanchard; brothers, Ronnie (Judy) and Artie (Karen) Morvant; sisters, Joyce (Roland) Hidalgo, Ret (Johnny) Darden and Brenda Cooper; three grandchildren, Kristen Morvant, Lanie Dufrene and Landen Blanchard; and one stepgrandchild, Stevi Bryant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Hazel Benoit Morvant; and brother-in-law, Bob Cooper.
