Victor “Boo” Duet, 77, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009.


He is survived by his girlfriend of 12 years, Gayle Thibodaux; brothers, Russell (Audrey) and Malcom (Pat) Duet; sister-in-law, Billie Duet; nieces, Celia (Steven) Crochet and Christine (Leonard) Lemoine; step-nieces, Deneen Naquin, Hiedi Cortez and Renee Duplantis; nephews, Doug Gerard Duet and Janis Hebert Duet, and Kye (Lisa) Duet; great-nieces, Caroline Lillian Lemoine, Nicole Grace Duet and Kyelee and Keelie Duet; and great-nephews, Ryan Lewis Lemoine and Philip Jay Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Josephine Ordoyne Duet; brother, Dudley Philip Duet; and sister, Lillian Louise Duet.


Mr. Duet was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a 1952 graduate of Thibodaux College, and served in the Korean Theater and was honorably discharged in 1962. He attended the Southwestern Louisiana Institute, “SLI” in Lafayette and Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. He retired from Chevron in Leeville in 1992 after 30 years of service.

He is buried at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Church Cemetery in Thibodaux.
