Sheriff’s ranges give public a new target

Dr. Vikram Khoshoo, known as “Dr. Vik” by patients and co-workers, died in a fatal crash early Tuesday, March 2, 2010. At the time of the accident, the New Orleanian was en route to Terrebonne General Medical Center, where he served as the director of the pediatric specialty center for West Jefferson Medical Center.


He is survived by his wife, Dr. Monica Dhar; son, Jay Khoshoo; and a host of relatives.


Dr. Khoshoo had more than 100 published articles, served on more than 10 editorial boards and was listed in “Best Doctors in U.S.” and “Best Doctors in New Orleans.” He was a pediatric GI specialist.

Dr. Khoshoo was known as an international expert on RSV and lung injury, as well as a leading author on chronic cough and its relationship to reflux. In addition to his medical degree, he held a doctorate in medical research and a master’s degree in business administration, which he received from Tulane University last year.
