Teacher outcry leads to tougher policy

Villier “V.J.” Folse, Jr., 85, a native of Lafourche Parish and a resident of Raceland, La., died Wednesday, June 18 at 2:50 p.m.


He is survived by his daughter, Aglonie DiVincenti and husband Michael; brother, Ray “Fuzz” Folse; grandchild, Jason Robichaux and companion Nadine Sampey; and great-grandchild, Brody Robichaux.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Danos Folse; parents Villier Sr. and Agnes Babin Folse; brothers, and Leroy Folse and Phillipe Folse.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a board member of Raceland Senior Citizens. He was a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church in Mathews, La.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, followed by mass at St. Hilary Catholic Church. He will be buried at St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.

Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
