Viola Marie Legendre Landry, 101, a resident and native of Chackbay, La., died at 11:13 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2007.
Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay. A mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Erie, Valey, Wilson Jr. and Leo Landry; her daughter, Una Landry Rodrigue; 31 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson J. Landry Sr.; her parents, Leo and Clothide Mars Legendre; her son, Jaedee Landry; her daughter, Rena Landry Rodrigue; her brothers, Leo, Jim, and Raoul Legendre; her sisters, Agnes Legendre Becnel and Lurline Legendre Landry; and her grandson, Kevin Rodrigue.
She was catholic and a parishoner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.
She was an avid homemaker who loved to sew for her family.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
