Virgil “Kick Back” Antoine Sampey, 78, a native of Gheens, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died at 12:35 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012.
Mr. Sampey was retired from Mathews Sugar Refinery. He loved planting a garden and working on appliances.
He is survived by his sons, Wayne (Angelina), Jody (Danielle), Leon and Chad Sampey; daughter, Natalie (Russell) Danos; sisters, Katie and Earline Theriot, Manuella Adams and Dolly Anderson; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Noella Sampey; parents, Elvans and Lorita Sampey; and brother, Salvin Sampey.
Burial was at Holy Savior Catholic Church Cemetery in Mathews. (Falgout)
