Virgis Joseph Blanchard Jr., 63, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Bourg, La., died at 5:05 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011.
Mr. Blanchard was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church.
He is survived by his son, Jeremy (Amy) Blanchard; daughter, Jody (Albert Jr.) Pellegrin; brothers, Gerald (Yvette), Raymond and Cornelius (Martha) Blanchard; sisters, Iris (Johnny) Peeples, Juanita (Rodney) Authement and Virgie Blanchard; three grandchildren; two foster children; and five foster grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgis Sr. and Eunice Blanchard; grandparents, Essie and Celesida Blanchard and Clifford and Bernadette Liner; and one foster grandchild.
Visitation will be 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at St. Ann Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Elie Cemetery. (Chauvin)
