Walter Dickerson, Sr., 83, native and resident of Houma, LA., died January 7, 2007.

Visitation will be from 10 to 1 p.m. funeral time Friday, January 12, 2007 at Pleasant View Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Woodlawn Ranch Cemetery.


He is survived by his wife, Listoria Volter Dickerson; daughters, Doris Dickerson Maryland, Evelyn Lyons Madison (Leroy), Yoland Dickerson, Junessia Dickerson, Robyn Dickerson Sims (Errol) and Barbara Dickerson of Houma, LA , Velvet Volter of New York, Mary Randolph Jenkins “Cedric” of Bayou Blue, April Dickerson Brown (DeWayne) of Birminham, AL.; his sons, William Lyons, Sr., Walter Dickerson, Jr. and Brian Dickerson all of Houma,LA.; 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Dickerson and Emma Going Dickerson; 4 brothers, Ben, Harry and Marclane Dickerson and Clarence Verrett; 5 sisters, Bernice Dickerson Dillard, Ruth Dickerson Thomas, Mary Dickerson Netter, Ora Mae Dickerson Hall and Ora McGee; one grandson, Kenneth Randolph.

He was a Army Veteran.
