Walter Hebert Jr., 64, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, March 1.


He is survived by his daughter, Doreen Barfield of Pensacola, Fl.; stepson, Timothy Smith and wife, Tanya; stepdaughter, Rose Mary Giron; sisters, Adeline Hebert and husband, Philo, and Joy Verrett and husband, John; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 14 step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalia Meza Hebert; his parents, Walter Francis Hebert and Augusta LeBouef Hebert; brothers, Keith Hebert, David Hebert and Terry Hebert; and sister, Nancy Hebert.

He was a tree cutter. His favorite saying was: “Let the good times roll.”

Visitation with a memorial service will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at 100 St. Louis St. in Houma.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
