Webster J. Bourgeois Sr., 84, a native of Raceland, La., died Friday, July 2, 2010.


Mr. Bourgeois was a hard-working business owner of Bourgeois Electric in Cut Off, La., for more than 40 years. His career included a lengthy employment with Louisiana Power and Light Company and Valentine Paper and Pulp. He was retired in Los Angeles for the last 41/2 years.

He enjoyed singing, dancing, gardening, hunting and bass fishing with his sons, sons-in-law and grandsons. He was a dedicated father and loving husband. He loved people and was loved by many. His greatest assets were his optimistic outlook, loving spirit and positive attitude. He will be sadly missed by all.


He is survived by his sons, Webster Jr. (Danette), Carl (Dawn) and Dwayne (Avis) Bourgeois; daughters, Winifred (Gregory) Parzynski, Stephanie (Paul) Wagner, Patricia (Dennis) Neal and Lesley (Michael Jr.) Terrebonne; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Miller Bourgeois; and sister, Dorothy “Dot” Bourgeois Guillot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel Dantin and Sidney Joseph Bourgeois; his first wife, Rose Mary Degruise Bourgeois; second wife, Thelma Guidry Bourgeois; and grandson, Zachary James Camardelle.

A family graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 20.
