Wilbert Nisby, Jr., 44, a native of Gibson, La., and resident of Sanford, FL, died Sunday, September 30, 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene S. Nisby; his father, Wilbert Nisby, Sr.; two sons, Kevin G. Nisby and Justice Brecere; two daughters, Tina Schwartz and Jennifer St. Julian; two brothers, Kenneth and Michael Nisby; one sister, Donna J. Washington; and six grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Floretta Hanzy Nisby; and his grandparents, Oliver Hanzy and Daniel Nisby.

Wilber was a devout Catholic and a member of St. James Baptist Church. He was a retired Veteran of the United States Army. He was a coach with Terrebonne Parish Recreation Department. He enjoyed watching and playing sports.

Visitation is Friday, October 5, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at James Baptist Church in Gibson, La. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
