Wilbert “Shus” Paul Trahan, 85, a native and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011.


Mr. Trahan was a retired fisherman and parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Clement Trahan; daughters, Darlene (Henry) Davis and Jeanne (Mitch Veillon) Trahan; brothers, Edward and John Trahan; sister, Rosalita Cunningham; six grandchildren, Paul (Janelle), Brad (Kim) and Jon Trahan, Jeremy Davis, Olivia (Jaromy) Davaine and Amanda Davis; and seven great-grandchildren, Austin, Lani, Angelle and Ashley Trahan, Taylor and Bryant Davaine and Peyton Pellegrin.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Baptiste and Helen Lirette Trahan; daughter, Grace Trahan; sons, Roger and Manuel (Stella) Trahan; brothers, Aaron, Wiley, Gildy and Justillian Trahan; and sisters, Viley White, Theresa Lirette and Lydia Thibodaux.

He is buried at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Fadi Abou-Issa, Journey Hospice, the staff at Terrebonne General Medical Center, Dr. Stagg and CIS. (Chauvin)
