Wilbur Paul Winfield, 84, a native of El Campo, Tx., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, August 27.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Largent Winfield of Houma; two sons, Darrell Brewer and wife Myrtle of Houma, and Tim Brewer of Weatherford, Tx.; one sister, Margie Emerson of Lafayette, La.; five grandchildren, Paula Laurent, Tim Brewer, Jimmy Brewer, Scott Brewer and Terry Brewer; and 12 great-grandchildren, Amber Laurent, Rachel Laurent, Nick Laurent, Kinsley Brewer, Alex Brewer, Jace Brewer, Dylan Brewer, Dustin Brewer, Jacob Brewer, Kennedy Brewer, Nathan Brewer and Evan Brewer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Alfred Winfield and Maggie Meeks Winfield; seven brothers; and three sisters.
He was a retired mechanic and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 28, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, August 29, at Chauvin Funeral Home with mass to follow. He will be buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
