Wilfred “Buddy” Joseph Pontiff, 81 a native and resident of Houma, La., died June 3, at 6:45 a.m.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Bonvillain and husband Michael of Coteau; sister, Marg Pontiff Price; grandchildren, Jennifer Jones and husband Chris and Theresa Plaisance and husband Donald Plaisance, Jr.; and one great-grandchild, Gavin Jones.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgie Malbrough Pontiff; son, Gary Pontiff; his parents, Paul Pontiff, Sr., and Emily Klingman Pontiff and brother, Paul Pontiff, Jr.
Mr. Pontiff was Catholic and a parishioner of Maria Immaculata Catholic Church. Mr. Pontiff was retired from Texaco. Mr. Pontiff was a Merchant Marine.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 8, at Chauvin Funeral Home with Liturgy of the Word to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis II Cemetery, Houma, La.
