William “Bill” Paul Chaisson Sr., 81, a native of Lafourche Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Friday, April 3, at 7 a.m.

He is survived by his sons, Charles, Autry, Carlton, Timothy and Joseph Chaisson; daughters, Sheila Theriot, Patricia Guidry, Marjorie Zeringue, Wenona Lirette, Angela Maronge and Anna Bradford; 32 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Elverda Boudreaux Chaisson; parents, Joseph A. and Wenona Boudreaux Chaisson; sons, William Jr. and Chester Chaisson; brothers, Lindward, Joseph “J.C.”, Bobbie, and Charles Chaisson; and sister, Marjorie Chaisson.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, April 6, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Dularge, La. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Eloi Church with burial at the church cemetery.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
