William Johnson Jr., 81, a native of Napoleonville, La., and a former resident of Jeanerette, La., died in Napoleonville, Wednesday, April 23.


He is survived by his sons, Junius Johnson and wife Irene of Napoleonville, Paul Johnson and wife Iris of Atlanta, Ga., and Lloyd Johnson of South Dakota; daughter, Rose Dumas and husband Russell of New Orleans, La.; stepdaughter, Delores Simmons and husband Alexander of New Orleans; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Kennedy; his parents, Elmira and William Johnson Sr.; and stepson, Lawrence Kennedy.

He was a retired laborer.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Beautiful Zion Baptist Church in Napoleonville with a religious service to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville is in charge of the arrangements.
