William Lewis Sittman, 88, a native of Irwin, Pa., and a resident of Houma, La., died Sunday February 9, at 8:15 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, LaDonna Mae Bayara Sittman; sons, William L. Sittman Jr. of Oroville, Ca., Ronald S. Sittman of Rocklin, Ca., Donald A. Sittman of Auburn, Ca., and Douglas B. Sittman of Lincoln, Ca.; daughters, LaDonna D. Wilson of Indianapolis, In., and Peggy A. Wolfe of Houma; brother, Carl Sittman of Laverne, Ca.; sister, Ruth Dornin of North Huntington, Pa.; and grandchildren, Kelly, Jackie, Jeannie, David, Darla Kay, Barbie, Billy, Rodney, Renee, Shannon, LaDonna, Bradley, Carl, Amy, Tommy, Cory, Andrea, David, Jenny, Linse, Morgan and Greta.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph P. Sittman and Ella J. Eckberg Sittman; daughter, Jeannie Gute; brother, Jack Sittman; and sister, Joy Book.

He was a Mason and a retired pilot for the U.S. Air Force. He began his service in Pittsburgh, Pa., September 29, 1942. He served in World War II and the Korean War and was discharged after 30 years as a Lieutenant Colonel on January 1, 1969.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, February 13, at Terrebonne House.
