William Newsom Jr.

William Hobson Newsom Jr., 90, a native of Brenham, Texas, and a resident of Houma, La., died at 1:12 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010.

Mr. Newsom retired from BJ Tools as a district supervisor. He served in the Army Air Corps and the Calvary in World War II. He was a member of the Men’s Bowling Association and enjoyed fishing and golfing.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Duplantis Newsom; daughter, Judith Pree; sons, William (Nancy) Newsom III and Michael (Carla) Tucker; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He is buried at St. Elie Cemetery.
