Willie “Pool” Price Jr., 80, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Wednesday, August 5.


He is survived by four daughters, Betty Young and husband Nolan of Raceland, Gayle Hill and husband Norris of Boutte, La., Sherry Price and companion Roy, and Adweena Price of Raceland; three sons, Jerome Price, Michael Price and wife Bessie of Raceland, and Dale Price and wife Eva of Houma, La.; four brothers, Sidney Price Sr. of Thibodaux, La., Lawrence Price and Leonard Price of Houston, Texas, and James Price of Lafayette, La.; five sisters, Annette Ivy, Rosa Lampley and Aurelia Stood of Houston, Naomi Babb and Geraldine Brown of Franklin, La.; 21 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Lovenia Price; parents Willie Sr. and Rosie E. Price; three sons, Willie Price III, Milton Price and Ronald Lee Price; and one brother, Julius Thompson.

He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. His hobbies included gardening.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 8, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Raceland with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery in Raceland.

Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
