Wills Morris Boquet Sr., 87, a native and life long resident of Bourg, La., died at his home Tuesday, November 11, at 1:10 p.m.


He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eula Mae Pinell Boquet of Bourg; three sons, Malcolm Boquet and wife Phyllis of Bourg, Wills Boquet Jr. and wife Pamela of Bourg, and Van Boquet and companion Sandy of Montegut, La.; two daughters, Clara Charpentier and husband Arlen of Bourg, and Elaine Fabre and husband Jerome also of Bourg; two brothers, Horrace “Hawky” Boquet of Bourg and Morris Boquet of Florida; one sister, Jeanette Deroche of Bourg; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antiolope Blanchard and Jules Boquet of Bourg; four brothers, Louis “Lulu”, Ferdinand “Frenchie”, Cyril and Alcee “Nick” all of Bourg; five sisters, Louise Arceneaux, Clara Boquet, Lena “Toon” Chauvin, Dulcie Olivier and Lela “Tea” Aucoin all of Bourg; and one infant daughter.


He served as a surgical technician in the Army during World War II from August 1942 to October 1945. He served on the battlefields in Ardennes, Rhineland, central Europe, Normandy and northern France. After his honorable discharge, he was awarded the Eameto Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Silver Star Medal. He worked for Texaco for 35 years. He was a farmer and cattleman all of his life. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, November 13, at St. Ann Catholic Church with mass to follow. He will be buried at St. Ann Cemetery in Bourg.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
