Yvonne Pontiff Bonvillain, 89, a native of Donner, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015.


Mrs. Bonvillain worked during WWII at the Thibodaux Shell Plant, Southdown Sugars, as a lab chemist for 23 years, Godchaux’s Clothing Store in the mall, and as a cook/baker at St. Bernadette School for 13 years. She liked traveling, camping, dancing, seafood boils with friends, reading, “Young and the Restless” and game shows. She was a member of Catholic Daughters, Bayou Blue Senior Citizens, Euchristic minister, Pokeno clubs. She and her husband travelled to Cypress Bayou and other casinos for food and fun on the bus trips.

Mrs. Bonvillian is survived by her son, Dean (Beverly Ann) Bonvillain; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Betty LeBlanc; sister-in-law, Beulah Pontiff; and her “Baby” Brieanna, her markie.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
