Yvonne Lucille Knuden- Smith, a native of Cooper, TX and resident of Houma, died 1:50pm Saturday, May 26, 2007.


She is survived by her husband, Stanley Smith of Houma; mother, Melva Larkin- Knudsen of Mesquite, TX; three sons, Charles “Butch” Smith and his wife Patricia of Houma, Stephen Smith of Gray, and Tommy Smith and his wife Laura of Katy, TX; two daughters, Mickey Lusco and husband Charlie of Houma, and Cheri Blanchard and husband James of Houma; three brothers, Gerald, Max, and Roger Knudsen of TX.; and one sister Billie Foster of TX.; eleven grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Heather and Douglas Smith, Lori Ahlf, Curt and Jacob Lusco, Erin LeBlanc, Jonah, Sara, and Sadie Blanchard; and five great grandchildren, Bailey and Kara Smith, Jenna and Caleb LeBlanc, Drake Smith and one new member of the family due soon.

She was preceded in death by her father, C.W. “Bill” Knudsen; one great granddaughter Shelby Ahlf; one brother, James Knudsen; and one sister Sally Richardson.


Yvonne was the oldest of seven children. She was married to her beloved Stanley on

September 19, 1948. She was a dedicated mother, participating in her children’s lives as they grew, as both a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader. She owned several of her own businesses and was active in the Republican Women’s Club. Yvonne loved to travel, as well as, art, literature, and gospel music. She was an avid reader and was a fan of television personality Joyce Myers.

Yvonne was devout Christian and is now at home with our Lord, Jesus.

She was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and a loyal friend. She will be sadly missed by her family, her friends, and all those she touched throughout her life.
