Calvin Anthony Ertell, age 17, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.  He was a native of Houma and a resident of Florida.  Calvin left this world too soon, he has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in Chapel Dauphine at Chauvin Funeral Home on Thursday, March 19, 2020 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. Celebration of Life will begin at 5:00 p.m.


Calvin is survived by his parents, Melissa Guillot Ertell and Ernest Ertell, Jr.; sister, Heather Bychurch and husband Robert; brother, Benjamin Ertell; beloved pets, Rudy and Bella; maternal grandmother, Rita Gisclair; paternal grandmother, Miriam Ertell Guidry and husband Ulysse Guidry; nieces, Katelyn and Makayla Bychurch and nephew, Blake Bychurch; paternal aunts, Elise Ertell, Anne Faber and husband, Doug and their children, Canton and Hannah Faber; maternal uncles, Randy and wife Scarlette Guillot and their children, Edward and wife Debra Guillot and their children, and Douglas Gisclair and his children; aunt, Rachel Gisclair and children. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.

Calvin is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ernest Ertell, Sr.; maternal great-grandparents, Mae B. Danos Kramer and Patrick Danos, Sr.; paternal great-grandparents, B. F. Ertell and Annie Lou Savage Ertell, paternal great grandparents, Mildred Duplantis Domangue and Armond Domangue, Sr. Beloved pet, Winston.

Calvin was fun-loving, kind, generous, fearless, outgoing, and a loving son and brother. Calvin had a great personality and was loved by all. He never met a stranger and was truly a social butterfly. Calvin lived life to the fullest and enjoyed his adventures. He loved baseball, football, skateboarding, scootering, and fishing. Anyone who knew Calvin, knew him by his great smile and his green eyes. Calvin will be missed by his friends, but most of all by his family. He touched many lives and his spirit lives in many.
