Celeste “Lulu” Corbin Hester Dugan, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Celeste was a native of Schriever and a longtime resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the visitation at St. Bridget Catholic Church on Friday, December 31, 2021, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 11:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 with burial in the church cemetery.

Celeste is survived by her daughters, Laurie Hester Prosperie and husband Toby, Natalie Hester, Jane Hester and companion, Gary Blanchard; grandchildren, Alexis and Ashlie Prosperie; brother, John Corbin, and wife Angie; sisters, Barbara Daigle, Evelyn Tomlin; brothers-in-law, L.P. Bordelon, and Walt Shultz.


Celeste is preceded in death by her husband John Dugan; parents, Charles and Evelyn Corbin; siblings, Paul “Pete” Huddleston, Jeanette Huddleston Shultz, Ann Corbin, and Charlene Corbin Bordelon.

Dr. Celeste Dugan was a loving person and was cherished by many. She spent many years in education and obtained her PhD in 2010. Dr. Celeste retired from Terrebonne Parish School Board after many years of service. She loved her family dearly and adored her two granddaughters who knew her as “Honey”. She enjoyed going to their activities and was their biggest cheerleader on the sidelines. She also loved reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Anyone who knew Celeste, knew she had a heart of gold and a positive outlook on life. Celeste will be dearly missed by all. She leaves a beautiful legacy behind and now rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
