Celeste Skeen Chabert, 80, a native of Corpus Christi, TX and resident of Bush, LA, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2021.
She is survived by her husband, Roland J. Chabert; children, Brett Chabert (Cynthia), Phillip Chabert (Jeanette), Angela Mathieu (John); grandchildren, Hailey and Shyla Chabert, Mark Mathieu, Alexis Nelson; great-grandchild, Cayson Nelson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Skeen and Celeste Muggli Skeen; brothers, Bruce Skeen, James “Jim” Skeen.
Celeste loved cooking, gardening, and quilting. She could often be found in her yard with Roland tending to her flowers, chickens, donkeys, and beloved dog, Francois. She taught quilting and had regular meetings with the Birds of a Feather and Queen Bee Quilting Clubs. If you received a quilt from Celeste, cherish it always, take care when washing, and don’t use it as a dog bed.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma (West Park) in Gray, LA is in charge of the arrangements.
