Clara “Deannie” Scott Bourg, age 81, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023. She was a native of Grand Caillou and longtime resident of Montegut.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home Friday, March 31, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 8:00 AM with a rosary at 8:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Deannie is survived by her loving husband Ronald J. Bourg; children, Deborah Arceneaux (Kenneth), Jeannie Watson (Joseph), Kent Bourg (Sandy); grandchildren, Kyle, Kegan (Heather), Beth, Hilary (Barry); great-grandchild, Scarlett; siblings, Gilbert Scott, Clothilde Thomas, Patrick Scott, Kathy Boudreaux, Ray Boudreaux, Brenda Neil, Linda Marcel, Mike Boudreaux.
Deannie is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Scott and Clara Scott Boudreaux; daughters, Sheryl Ann Bourg and Mary Ann Bourg.
Deannie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She owned Lady in the Shoe daycare for over 40 years where she took care of over 2,000 children. Deannie loved to cook, going to the casino and spending time with family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Jessica Bryant, her caregiver. Dr. Russell Henry, St. Catherine’s Hospice and Heritage Manor for all their love and care.
