October 16, 1937 – April 6, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Collins “Nolan” Naquin on April 6, 2022, born on October 16, 1936 (85).

A visitation will be held in his honor on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Magnolia Chapel from 6 PM to 9 PM. Visitation will continue Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 9AM until the Religious Service at 11AM. Burial will follow in Bisland Cemetery in Bourg, LA.


Collins is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mildred Hotard Naquin; children, Sharon “Dorell” Naquin and Leonard “Lynn” Naquin; grandchildren, Grace, Joshua, and many others who are like grandchildren to him; great grandchildren, Landon, Liam, Greyson, and Aubrey; siblings, Nazia Dardar, Theresa Naquin, Lester Naquin, Juanita “Nita” Naquin, Loredia Brunet, Jay Naquin, Elizabeth Furlong, Cora Matthews, and William “Billy” Brayman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph “Shoot” Naquin and Eva Billiot Brayman; siblings, Paul Naquin, Buster Naquin, Irvin Naquin, Angelina Dardar, and Beulah Dufrene.

Nolan was well known in his community as a Deacon at Live Oak Baptist Church in Pointe Aux Chene, LA. He was a commercial fisherman for many years. Nolan was a loving and dedicated father and husband to his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Nolan will be remembered by his loved ones for always having a smile on his face.


Nolan will be dearly missed by all those who had the honor to know and love him.
