Cyrus Peter Fitch, Sr., age 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 18, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Cyrus was a longtime resident of Grand Caillou.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until his Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Services will be conducted by his son, Pastor Irby Fitch. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.
Cyrus is survived by his children, Cyrus P. Fitch, Jr., Eric J. Fitch and wife Mandy, Casey Fitch Fanguy and husband, Billy, Irby J. Fitch and wife Brittany, Brandon L. Fitch and wife, Christina; son-in-law, Harry “Boy” Pierre; grandchildren, Brent, John Paul, Reaven, Trevor, Jaron, Brennan, Misty, Macy, Erin, Eric Jr., Morgen, Chandelon, Mekenzie, Billy Jr., Aliya, Isabel, Ian, Maddox, Trent, Mariah, Saige, Noah; eighteen great grandchildren; sisters, Velma Williams, Virginia Fitch, and Geraldine Fitch; brothers, Roger Fitch Sr., and Steve Fitch.
Cyrus is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Earline Foret Fitch; daughter, Stacy Fitch Pierre; parents, Charles and Edwina Martin Fitch; siblings, brothers, Felix “Gabby”, Charles Fitch Jr., Larry Fitch, Newman Fitch, and Edward Fitch; sisters, Enolia and Mary Fitch.
Cyrus was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Anyone who knew Cyrus knew he loved the Lord and instilled beliefs to his family. He was the patriarch of the family, had an amazing personality, loved dancing, cooking, and helping others in need. He truly would give the shirt off his back. Cyrus spent many years working on Tugboats. Cyrus leaves a beautiful legacy behind to be reunited with his family who passed before him. He is now resting in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
