Earline Pontiff Trahan, age 86, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 10, 2022. Earline was a longtime resident of Houma.


Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Gregory Catholic Church on Monday, February 14, 2022, beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.

Earline is survived by her sons, Frank Trahan and wife, Sharon, and Jimmy Trahan and wife, Tiffany; daughters, Jackie Trahan, Cindy T. Eschete and late husband, Timmy, Connie T. Lajaunie and husband, Ronnie, and Maxine T. Dubois and husband, Michael; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Earline is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Russell “Rock” Joseph Trahan; parents, Abel Pontiff, Sr. and Helena Gautreaux Pontiff; siblings, Edmund, Joseph, Edward, Abel Pontiff, Jr., Irene Abadie and Lucille Pontiff.


Earline was a beautiful soul and loved all. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and known to many as “mom”. She loved music, bowling, Tuesday night and Thursday morning Poke-N-O, playing Tri-Ominos, Dominos, and cards. She also loved bingo, traveling, fishing, and especially her pets Nichole, Sam, and Gracie. Earline was full of personality and had a contagious smile. She was the matriarch of her family and enjoyed spending time with them especially around the holidays. She was God’s greatest gift to many. Earline leaves a beautiful legacy behind to be reunited with her beloved husband and now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
