Edith Fanguy Rubio, 79, a native of Houma and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana passed away on March 31, 2022.

A memorial in her honor will be held at a later time.

She is survived by her husband, Eduardo Rubio Raga; her daughter, Jackie Nelson Simoneaux; her sisters, Yvonne Fanguy Smith (James “Smitty”); Evelyn Fanguy Geist (Dan Kennedy); Rosalie Fanguy Hebert (Michael Hebert, deceased); Shirley Fanguy Champagne (Wayne); and Cheryl Fanguy (Tim Boudreaux); and the grandchildren she adored, Jarrett Michael Hebert, Lauren Hebert Naquin (Stefon), and Oliver Josef Naquin; and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Michelle Nelson; her parents, Harry and Ruby LeBlanc Fanguy; and her brother, Carroll Joseph Fanguy (Deanna Guidry Fanguy).

She was the kindest, most thoughtful, giving, and caring person. She loved fishing, dancing, bowling, and spending time with her family. She was a proud sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She will be greatly missed.
