Edward Joseph Poiencot Jr., age 74, a native and resident of Houma, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday March 18, 2023.
As per Edward’s wishes there will be no services held.
Edward is survived by his only son, Kevin Poiencot Sr. (fiancé Dodie Scott); grandchildren, Brent Verdin (wife Jackie), Kevin Poiencot Jr. (fiancé Olivia), Evan Poiencot, and Emily Poiencot; step-grandchildren, Ethan (fiancé Victoria), Arianna (partner Carley), and Jayden; great-grandchildren, Khaili, Kathy, Benjamin, Blake, Kimberly, Brayden, Beauxeigh; step-great grandchild, Abel; brother, Michael Poiencot (Paula); sisters, Earline Cunningham and Barbara Jones (Mike); and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren whom he loved and adored.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Madonna Lyons Poiencot; his parents, Edward J. Poiencot Sr. and Marie Louise Boudoin Poiencot; paternal grandparents, Auriele Poiencot and Jane Babin Poiencot; maternal grandparents, Joseph Boudoin and Odile Bergeron Boudoin; father-in-law, Hilliard Nicholas Lyons and Mother-in-law Lillie Mae Lirette Lyons; sister, Mary Lee Smith and one great grandchild.
Edward was a retired boat Captain and was a loving devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Edward Poiencot Jr.
