Elizabeth “Liz” Odile Fontenot, 63, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021. Elizabeth was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00am until 11:0am. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Houma, LA at 11:30am. Burial will follow in Bayou Black Cemetery.

Liz is survived by her loving husband of forty-four years, James Fontenot; mother, Sylvia Trahan Crochet; children, Jeremy Fontenot, Jenifer Rousseau and husband Clifton; grandchildren, Jace James Rousseau, Eloise Grace Fontenot; brothers, Kevin and wife Melanie Crochet, Robert Crochet Sr.; sister, Emily Hebert; god-daughter, Tess Crochet; step-son, Jason Michael Fontenot.


Liz is preceded in death by her parents, James Alfred Crochet Sr.; aunt, Odile Breaux; brother, James Alfred Crochet Jr., grandparents, Viltres and Anna Lea Crochet and Alfred and Emily Trahan and Odile Breaux; nephews, Theron Crochet and Austin Hebert; infant step-grandson, Justin Fontenot.

Liz was a dedicated and caring mother who spent many hard years working to provide for her family and friends. She took care of her family before her needs. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She also loved to spend time outdoors and making memories with her family and friends. She was a land Angel waiting for her heavenly wings. Liz most cared and loved her family whom she enjoyed spending time with and adored more than anything else in the world. Liz had a knack for clipping coupons and was often called “The Coupon Queen” by her family and friends.

Her life will be remembered by the many lives she touched. Liz will remain in the hearts of so many loved ones, family and friends. She will be well missed and never forgotten; but always and forever loved.
