Ester Smith, 70, a native of Opelousas, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, March 29, 2014.
She is survived by her sons, Roosevelt Smith and Johnell (Latonya) Nora; daughters, Sarah Nora and Helen Williams; brothers, Freddie and Walter Smith; sisters, Fannie Zachary and Sylvia (James) Jones; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan and Genevieve Smith; daughter, Gloria Smith; brothers, Gilbert, Claude, Nolan Jr., Sam, James, Robert and Laymen Smith; and sisters, Corrine, Joyce, Shirley, Mary Ann and Beverly Smith.
