Eugene James “Skip” Pellegrin, age 81, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He was a native and resident of Chauvin, LA.


Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday, January 7, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until the recitation of the Rosary at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin on Saturday, January 8, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Skip was survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nell Bergeron Pellegrin; daughters, Jodie Burton and husband Kevin, Debbie Authement and husband Chris; son, Dwayne Pellegrin; sister, Barbara Carlos and husband Durle; grandchildren, Alex Breaux (Whitney), Macy Breaux, Brandi Burton (Trent), Paul Pellegrin (Sadie), Whitney Pitre (Tyler), Dexter Authement, and Holden Authement; Skip is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.

Skip is preceded in death by his parents, Usy Pellegrin and Linda Theriot Pellegrin; brothers, David Pellegrin, Usy “Black” Pellegrin, Daniel “Butch” Pellegrin, Donald Pellegrin; sister, Bella Pellegrin Authement; father and mother-in-law, Evans “Vin” Bergeron and Margaret Bergeron.


Skip was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all. Skip was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin for many years. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 380, Knights of Columbus, and Woodmen Lodge, as well as many other organizations. Skip enjoyed spending time with his family and making precious memories. He leaves a beautiful legacy behind and is now reunited with his family who passed before him. Skip now rests in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
