Glory “Gloria” V. Morel, 74, a native of St. Martinville and a resident of Houma, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Samart Funeral Home on West Park from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm.
She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Gerald T. Morel, Sr.; sons, Gerald “Jerry” Morel, Jr. and wife Lisa, Herbert Morel, and Zachariah “Zach” Morel and wife Nellie; daughters, Crystal Morel, Ashley Guidry, Ruth Benjamin and husband Gerald, and Joyce “Joy” Morel; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Willie Veronie and Lee Veronie; sisters, Anna Hill, Adley Mesch, and Joanne Veronie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steven Veronie and Evelyn Guilbeau; brothers, J. Junior Veronie and John Veronie; and sisters, Eva Veronie, Lynn Broussard, Mary LeBlanc, and Jean Lanclos.
Gloria enjoyed caring for and being with family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed gardening and caring for her birds. Gloria had a loving and caring heart for family, friends, and animals, except ants, but who could blame her?
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Terrebonne General and Haydel Memorial Hospice for their care and compassion. The family would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and well-wishes during this time.
