Guadalupe “Lupe” Cervantes, Jr., 52, a native of Brownsville, Texas and resident of Dulac, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021.


He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Cervantes; children, Chucky “C.J.” Farkas, Jr., Caleb Dilbert, Cain Dilbert, Donovan Cervantes, and Davonna Cervantes; father, Guadalupe Cervantes, Sr. of Texas; siblings, Juanita R. Cervantes, Viola T. Chapa Cervantes (Jorge Chapa), Juan Jose Cervantes, Maricela Cervantes, Milagros Cervantes, Felipe Cervantes; Daniel Cervantes, Michael Cervantes, and Erica Cervantes; brothers and sisters-in-law, Merita Solet (Paul), Leona Self (Randy), Rita Martin (Larry), Sandy Gautreaux (Russell), Candy Robinson (Andy), Anna Naquin (Darren), Cookie Boudreaux (Craig), and Wiggis Gregoire (Marissa); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Galvan Cervantes; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wiggis and Rita Gregoire; and nephew, Raul Cervantes.

Lupe was a devout Christian who loved his church, Bayouland Worship Center. He was a loving, caring person who loved to fish and hunt. He also loved to read, write, sing, draw, and entertain his children and wife. He like to cook for his family. He was always grilling. He was a compassionate person who always cared for those around him.


A visitation will be held in his honor on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, 4511 West Park Ave., Gray, Louisiana from 9:00 am until the Religious Service at 12:00 pm. The burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Gray, Louisiana.
