James Peter Knoblock, Sr., age 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. James was a native of Raceland and a longtime resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in Chapel Dauphine of Chauvin Funeral Home on Saturday, January 8, 2022, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of his Life will follow at 1:00 p.m. with burial at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.

James is survived by his children, Craig Knoblock, Sr. and wife Marsha, Coty Knoblock, Sr. and wife Maria, Chris Knoblock and wife Tina, Sandy Parker and husband Charles, James Knoblock, Jr. and wife Teena; grandchildren, Cassie, Wendy, Carey, Craig Jr., Autumn, Coty Jr., Jasper, Tanner, Cheyenne, Brittany, Steven, Amanda, Emily, Alisha, and Christina; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Parker, Courtney, Gage, Sydney, Sophie, Trinity, Bradley, Zoe, Eli, Ava, Braiden, Juliette, Kellen, Brady, Abrum, Damien, Kristen, Lauren, Cooper, Callie, Chance, Adam; and numerous great great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Naquin; brother, Clarence Knoblock, Jr.


James is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Janice Crochet Knoblock; son, Clint Knoblock; parents, Mae and Clarence Knoblock, Sr.; brother, Leroy Knoblock; sister, Joyce “Sis” Gonzales.

James was a man of faith, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was known for his ethical value, loving, caring, family man, never met a stranger, and always willing to help others. James worked as a salesman for many years; he worked for Phillip Morris for many years and then retired from Landmark Furniture Store after many years of service. Anyone who knew James, knew he enjoyed tending to his yard and garden. He was also an avid Saints and LSU fan.
