John was a blessed man who married his beautiful bride on August 20, 1960. After 61 years of marriage, he leaves this world behind to be reunited with his family who passed before him. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially duck hunting and fishing. He loved LSU, Saints, playing cards, and enjoyed reading a good book, but most of all he adored and cherished his grand and great-grandchildren. John was a Crane Operator until his retirement after many years of service. John was a longtime parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church and longtime 3rd degree Knights of Columbus member. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps. John closed his eyes on earth to be greeted by his beloved son, John Wayne Champagne. They both rest in the arms of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
