Joseph C. Rouen, III, 91, a native of Houma and resident of Thibodaux, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.
He was preceded in death by his brother Carroll P. Rouen; sisters, Earline R. Oncale and Patricia Ann Rouen; and parents, Joseph C. Rouen, Jr. and Rita LeBouef Rouen.
Rouen graduated from Thibodaux High School in 1948. He earned an Associate Degree from Francis T. Nicholls Junior College. He then attended Louisiana State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s of Social Work. He practiced social work for over 40 years, primarily as a children’s caseworker with the Louisiana Department of Health and Human Resources in foster care, adoption, and child protection programs. He also worked several years as a medical social worker with Capitol Home Health. Rouen was a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Academy of Certified Social Workers. He also served two years in the U. S. Army. He was a parishioner of St. Genevieve Catholic Church.
The family wishes to thank St. Catherine’s Hospice and Audubon Health and Rehab.
