February 17, 1941 – January 4, 2022

Kirby Joseph Zeringue, 80, born on February 17, 1941, passed on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Kirby was a native and resident of Thibodaux.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Torres Zeringue; daughters, Nicole Parr (Chad) and Gwen Amedee (Mark); grandchildren, Eddie Arnett, Megan Zeringue, Mark Amedee, Jr., Austin and Kate Parr; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his canine companion, Benji.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Hortense Zeringue; sisters, Mildred Roundtree and Kathleen Boudreaux. Sadly, he lost his only son, Ricky Zeringue, this year.

Kirby loved life, family, and dancing every weekend in the good ol’ days. He was a man of many talents, especially when it came to his hog-head cheese recipe that no one else could recreate. Kirby also enjoyed carpentry, which he inherited from his father, then passed down to Ricky. Kirby and Ricky made sure their projects would come out “perfect”. Kirby will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and well-wishes during this time.

A private burial will take place at a later date.
