Larry Paul Authement, 79, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022. Larry was a native of Dulac, Louisiana, which was his home for many years and a big part of his heart.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery 2.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria J. Champagne Authement; son, Travis Paul Authement (Theresa); daughter, Kara Authement Pierron (Shane); grandchildren, Rhett Mikael Authement (Jasmine) and Beckett Ray Jude Pierron; great-grandchild, Everett Luke Authement; and sister, Cheryl Authement Blanchard (the late Mike Blanchard).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Lura Authement and infant brother, Ronald Joseph Authement.

Larry graduated from Terrebonne High School in 1961 and earned a bachelor’s degree from LSU. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, and spending time at his camp. He served as president of the Dulac Bassmasters for many years and also was a former member of the Krewe of Terreanians Carnival Club. Larry loved his family and friends, and will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father of two children, grandfather of two, and a great-grandfather of one. He was passionate about the seafood industry, and owned and operated Terrebonne Seafood, Inc., along with an array of other businesses throughout the years. This included a shrimp canning factory, a frozen shrimp business, a dried shrimp operation, shrimping docks, wholesale trucking of shrimp and a softshell crab operation.

Larry was a person with great enthusiasm and energy, and whatever opportunity came around, Larry was ready to go. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
