Lovencie “Vince” John Gambarella Jr., age 83, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 7, 2022. He was a native of Golden Meadow and a resident of Houma, LA.


Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, February 12, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until funeral service at 12:00 p.m. with burial following in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.

Vince is survived by his companion, Shirley Denson; Son, Antonio T. Gambarella; daughters, Lorie G. Cheramie and husband, Alton Sr., and Susie G. Newell; step children, Joey and wife, Shanna and Jason Pierce, Gerald and Beckie LeBouef, brother, Roy Gambarella and wife, Ella; sister-in-law, Carolyn R. Gambarella; grandchildren, Alton J. Cheramie Jr. and wife, Sarah, Austin V. Cheramie, Megan D. Ortego and husband, Michael, and Hayden M. Newell, step-grandchildren, Faith, Bryce and Destiny Pierce; great-grandchildren, Grady and Colt Cheramie, and Parker Ortego.

Vince was preceded in death by 1st wife, Yvette Trahan Gambarella and 2nd wife, Betty Hollingsworth Gambarella; parents, Lovencie John Sr. and Lelia Constrantchis Gambarella; brothers, Adam Gambarella and wife, Lynn, and Michael Gambarella.


Vince was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was the owner of G & B Marine, Inc. and numerous other businesses. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping, going to the casino, and going eat out with his family and friends.  He was a past member of the Krewe of Terreanians and served as King in 1988. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched.
