Marvin “Dudy” Joseph Bourg, Jr., 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Houma, Louisiana on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.


He was born October 8, 1956, in Houma, Louisiana. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin J. Bourg, Sr. and Elinor Margaret (Champagne) Bourg. He is survived by his sister, Kerri Lynne Bourg, His former wife Shawn Boquet, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

He was a graduate of South Terrebonne High School and earned a degree in Biology at Nichols State University. Marvin, a biologist, loved the outdoors and all of God’s creatures. He cherished the wetlands of Louisiana. There wasn’t a plant or animal he couldn’t identify. Marvin had the awesome ability to put words together in a way that they actually came to life. He wrote many wonderful poems and short stories, some of which were published in the local newspaper. What a joy reading them. Marvin was a devoted Martial Artist. Studied with Jessie Jones for many years. He loved the sport and hoped that one day he could teach young children. He was a self-taught guitar player, and, could play quite well. He loved the music of the Eagles and various other soft-rock groups.

A memorial service will be held at Samart Funeral Home in Gray, Louisiana, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, March 4, 2022. Brother Ray Blouin will present the Spiritual Message.
